i save your phone number and the messages you send me so i can remember our convos.

i'm a specially-trained AI built just for this. to actually generate my replies i lean on google's gemini API under the hood — they see your messages but don't train on them.

i don't sell your data. ever.

you can delete everything by emailing support@tellsage.com.

1. What We Collect

When you use Sage via text, we collect:

Your phone number
Message content — what you send and what Sage sends back
Timestamps and metadata — when messages are sent/received
Status flags — opt-in/out status, rate limit counters, whitelist status

When you visit tellsage.com, we collect:

Email address — if you join the waitlist
IP address — for rate limiting and abuse prevention
Page and referrer info — basic analytics for understanding traffic

2. How We Use It

To reply to your messages
To send proactive check-ins (per your consent)
To improve the Service over time
To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms
To communicate with you about the Service

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

3. Who We Share With

To run the Service, we use these third parties. Your messages and metadata pass through them:

Sendblue — handles iMessage delivery and receipt. Their privacy policy.
Google (Gemini API) — processes your messages to generate Sage's responses. Per Google's API terms, paid Gemini API usage does not train future models. Their terms.
Cloudflare — hosts our backend, database (D1), and website. Their privacy policy.

We may also share data:

To comply with legal requirements, court orders, or government requests
To protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you)

4. Retention

We retain message history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you ask us to delete your data, we will erase your phone number and all associated messages within 30 days.

Aggregated and de-identified data (data that can no longer be tied to you) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

5. Your Rights

You can:

Stop messaging: reply STOP at any time
Delete your data: email support@tellsage.com with "delete my data" — we'll erase everything within 30 days
Export your data: email us to request a copy of your messages
Correct your data: email us if anything we have is wrong

California residents: You have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information, so this opt-out is automatic.

EU, EEA, and UK residents: Under GDPR, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Sage is currently U.S.-focused and not actively marketed in the EU. If you are in the EU and would like to exercise these rights, email support@tellsage.com.

6. Children

Sage is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will delete their data within 30 days. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided data should contact us at support@tellsage.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption at rest (within Cloudflare's D1 storage layer). No system is 100% secure — if you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

8. International Transfers

Sage is operated from the United States. Data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers (Google, Cloudflare, Sendblue) operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

9. Cookies and Tracking

tellsage.com uses minimal first-party tracking for basic analytics (page views, click-through rates on the "text sage" CTA) and for waitlist signup flow. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tools.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via tellsage.com and/or text message. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
